Adding image information to a Sitemap
Sitemaps are priceless resources for search engines and no-brainer SEO tool. They can highlight the important content on a site and allow crawlers to quickly discover it. Images are an important element of many sites and search engines could equally benefit from knowing which images you consider important. Though sitemaps are somewhat limited, as they do not allow you to include information about images across the entire URL. Although we know that images drive traffic to your site if optimized properly and it would be nice if search engines could know which images on a site you consider most important.
Now you can use Sitemap Writer Pro’s new feature and provide Google with the exact image information on your site. In order to add your site images to an XML sitemap, you don’t need to create a new Sitemap, just update the sitemap you already use, simply adding information on the images. For each URL you list in your Sitemap, you can attach additional information about significant images that exist on that page. It is possible to list up to 1,000 images for each page.
This will let the Google know where all the images are located for the webpages and increase the chance for your site to index more images in Google database, thus generating more traffic from Google Images.
